Im new to the Integra...

Hey, I just recently became interested in owning a Type R. Real Bad. I know that the Type R comes with a B18C, which I know can be Turboed. What I dont know, is where to get the stuff to do it...like who makes the turbos, and which ones are the best. Please post some links to tuners, turbo makers for the 'teg and basic stuff like that...info that might help me choose the best stuff...thanks

Ouch. Type-R? You're kinda late to jump on the train, because they aren't made anymore. You'll have to buy used if anything. They were made in 1998, and then 2000-2001. The most common kit, and I'm not even sure if they have it for the Type-R, is the Greddy. Some other manufacturers of turbos for Honda/Acura cars are FMAX, Rev Hard, and DRAG. None of those three are street/smog legal. If you don't mind trying to build your own kit, I would recommend going with a Turbonetics ceramic ball bearing turbo.

thanks for the help...i hope i will be able to find a decent type r in my area. when i get the money, hopefully ill be able to find a real nice one...i do know that in a few years, honda is coming out with a new type r, in the shape of the new RSX...but i like the older integras better...

well first of all, the type r isn't the best to turbo if you like integs, b/c of it's high compression (10.6) you're gonna have to lower that to something in the range of 9-9.5 anyways, so that kinda takes out the big advantage of the type r, the other thing is that the gear ratio is so close that you won't make maximum boost power w/ your turbo cuz it doesn't have enough time to spool.....so you're basically paying for the name....the only other benefits of the type r is the rear stablizer bar, longer sway bars, and limited slip....all things you can get for not that expensive.....

i'd get a gs-r or an ls/gs and work w/ that, better for turbo and tuning....the type r is basically a tuned car, and there is little you can do to it cuz it's so good already.....just check out other type r rides, and you'll see....none of the type r's really do all that much since it's so awesome to start out with.....

Hey I have a Type R Turbo...and I love it...I have a Greddy stage 4 turbo with low compression pistons...it is awesome...you will love it no matter what brand you go with but I definately recommend Greddy...my car runs high 11's to 12's but that is nowhere near the only thing I have done...but it will run it...good luck to you

hey the integra and any honda motor is awesome so easy to work with....the turbo purely dependz on what uses that you're gonn ause it for...if you want a quick spool for fast accel or higher top end speed but the better manufacturers on the market now are F-Max www.F-Max.com garret and HKS is not bad at all liek i said the stuff that you get will depend on what you want to do with your car
