97 k1500 oil pan removal

how do you take the oil pan off, this is my first 4x4, i have all the bolts off the oil pan, oil filter adapter is off, tork converter cover is loose, looks like the cross over exaust pipe is in the way (don't want to take that off), and front axel looks like that is in the way too, oh and the steel rods that go from the engine to the tork converter housing is loose,do i have to remove the front axel, any help would be great, thank you.

You may need to remove the front 3'th member /rear end front.

Agreed. On my '98 Sub K2500 7.4 the front drive assy had to be dropped in order to get the pan off. A note on that. Remember to disconnect all the wiring up there. ABS, both sides, and front differential lock actuator and anything else. It doesn't have to drop very far to get the pan off.

it was alot easyer than i thought,3 bolts, two holding the axle on the right, and the top pumpkin bolt, take these out and the whole axel slides down and to the front, then turn the wheels to the left because the pumpkin rests on the steering rod and that gave it enough to slide the oil pan out, thank you

Yes sometimes not as bad as a 2W drive.
