No electrical power then suddenly its ok

I have a 2003 Trailblazer LS. When leaving work today it had no power and key wouldnt go back to the off postion. I used the keyless entry to get in the truck then after i tried to turn it over nothing happened. I had absolutely no electrical power. I tried to boost it off but that didnt work. The battery is only a year old. After 20 mins i heard the ignition beeping because i left the doors open in fear of being magically locked out. So far it has restarted 3 times without incident. Im afraid that i may run into this problem again. Any suggestions to what caused this problem? Thank you.

Re: No electrical power then suddenly its ok

If all the battery cables are clean and tight, sounds like the common problem with the ignition switch failing.

Re: No electrical power then suddenly its ok

I just had the same problem with an '02! second time actually. It seems it was a loose and/or dirty terminal on the battery.

If you're driving at night, keep an eye on your headlights - mine would flicker a bit, especially as you touch the brakes or operate the power windows.

all of the connecting and unconnecting seems to have fried something in the 4x4 actuator set up though as now it will not go into 4x4 and early diagnostics point to an electrical issue.

good luck!
