93' civic problems

i have a 93 civic DX that runs good for the most part. but after it warms up the engine starts to shakes when it idles and every so often will stall out when i come to a stop. the spark plugs, spark wires, distributor cap, and rotor are all brand new and are strait from honda. i also checked the vacuum and changed the PCV valve so thats good too. any suggestions would help out alot.

Re: 93' civic problems

one thing that you can check out is ur engine mounts, fuel filter/pump, upgrade to NGK plugs and wires

I dont think its your motor mounts, or it would be shaking all the time, I would check your fuel filter. and NGK plugs arent an upgrade when thats what Honda recommends

Re: 93' civic problems

This same thing happened with mine. Get a compression tester. Get the compression on all 4 of the cylinders if one of the cylinders has a compression around 20 psi then you have a blown exaust valve. If compression same in all cylinders it is something else.

Re: 93' civic problems

loss of compression could be many things, one of them being a bent exhaust valve. others including but not limited to, bad rings, badly cracked head/block... etc.
