bad viberations-96 sc2

96 Sc2, 216k, 5 speed.
While driving, car vibrates under acceleration. I notice it occasionally at lower speeds, but mostly above 50. Worst between 55-65. And when you lift throttle, it goes almost completely away.

wheels are balanced
checked wheel bearings

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd check the CV joints next. They could be worn and sloppy.

That points to a bad wheel bearing. Put the car up on stands and rock the wheel back and forth with your hands at the 12 and 6 pm positions. IIRC since its worse with left turns, the left left wheel bearing is bad.

And yes the SC2 comes with a stock DOHC motor
