Gas Tank Rattle

Some of you may recall me posting about a rattle noise. Well today I took the time to really look into it and have narrowed it down to the gas tank!

Can the fuel pump be rattling inside? Or does the car generate enough vibration to make the tank rattle against something?

Did some looking online and read I may have to replace straps and cushions.

Any second opinions?

Re: Gas Tank Rattle

Get on the ground and put your foot against the tank and see if it stops. Hit the tank with a rubber mallet and see if it affects it.

I have seen a few cars with a baffle around the fuel pump in the tank that has broken loose or bent and makes noises...

Depending on the sound, could it be a tank vent solenoid chattering?
