|
Door lock remotes standard on all trucks?
I bought a 1995 C2500 and it only came with one key, no remotes. Call me lazy but I figured they were standard on all C/K trucks. Were the remotes an option or not available for work trucks (which mine is not)?
If I go the route to buy replacement remotes, what is the procedure to have the truck learn the new remotes? Thanks!

The keyless entry may have been an option. Only true way to find out is to call a dealer with your VIN and ask them.
If it is installed on your '95 then get an fob p/n and go on eBay. There are good fob eBayers there and they all come with instructions.

If you give me your VIN, I can provide the option codes your truck was built with....to tell you if keyless entry was an option.

My truck came with the YE9 "Convenience Package & Decor Level #3", which should include remote door locks I believe.

Basically, you ground pin "G" of the ALDL (diagnostic link) under steering wheel- then push any button of the remote- the door locks respond, then do another remote if you wish- pretty simple..

Just called the dealer and was informed the truck was NOT equipped with factory remote door locks. Guess I'll look into aftermarket systems then. Thanks for your replies!
