light throttle misfire
i just replaced the motor in my 95 EX. under light throttle (keeping the rpms at under under 2200 when shifting) it has a stumble or vibration. it has this misfire in nuetral as well if your cracking the throttle under the hood and while doing so removing the numbr 3 wire has no effect (the others make it clear out)
heres what ive done so far. the motor i just put in has 73,000 on it. motor pulled was 160,000. the "new" motor got the distributor and wires because i knew they were good. also got the upper intake because the linkage was goofed up on the other one. so far ive changed the cap, plugs, and pirated the old injectors from the previous motor (that had no misifre just bearing knock) where else should i be looking? i cant imagine the wire(s) went bad in the process of swapping from one motor to the other? the only sensors that made it to the new motor were whatever was on the upper plenum. cant find any vacuum leaks either. 2.2 vtec f22b1 seems down on power but revs smooth if you drive it with your foot into it a bit but has a terrible miss if your just cracking the throttle around town |

Re: light throttle misfire
When you did all this work, did you first unhook your red battery cable? It clearly states in any book on all these Honda's and Acura's that the red battery cable be pulled first then you don't have a computer firing commands that can't happen and burning something up. Did you get the title to the car your engine came from? I'd do a background check on it, 73k is just getting broke in good for these cars which by the way should run the highest octane. Especially if it's been sitting up at all.
