Interior Water Leak

I have had a constant water leak in my Liberty for about 1 month now. Rear carpet padding was soaked on both sides. Dealer replaced door seal and roof rack seal, which did not help. Removed interior carpet to dry it out. Today after a good rain, found inside with water again. Traced water back to rear cargo area. Removed wet carpet and started looking. Found water leaking through RH fender flare attach points. Doesn't look like any seals there to me, how do you fix that?

Re: Interior Water Leak

let a body shop give you an estimate and let them tell you what they are going to do to fix it and then you got an idea of how the pros will do it

Re: Interior Water Leak

The local dealer inspected the rear fender flare and reported a piece was missing from it, allowing water to enter the vehicle. Mind you, this is OEM from Jeep. The part is special order, so now I wait and keep swapping out towels after every rain. And no, this is warranted by Jeep unless you still have your 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Like my Liberty, but will never buy another again.

Re: Interior Water Leak

Well, looks like the Jeep body shop fixed the problem. Replaced fender flare that a part was left off from the factory as well as the grommets used to seal the fender flare to body. Found one more leak at the right rear pillar by the rear window area. Seam was not sealed allowing the water to flow into seam and into car. Apparently, the technician said this was a problem with most Liberty's. Jeep quality control=

Re: Interior Water Leak

Oh yeah, sent a letter off the Chrysler Customer Service Center about a month ago. Of course, I never heard from them. Too bad, I was thinking about buying another car from Jeep. And they want to know why they can't sell cars..........

Re: Interior Water Leak

Just an update for ya. Chrysler called after I sent them a letter and the cost for the repairs. I returned their call today, they just wanted to inform me(after playing 20 questions and giving them a reference number) that they decided to refuse my claim. Hey no problem, I won't be buying their vehicles anymore. Bye-bye Chrysler and have a nice day.....
