96 Sunfire no start when hot

My neighbours daughters car is having a problem starting warm. The car is three hours away but we are going to take a drive and see if we can figure it out this weekend, so I will try to describe what she has told us.
The car starts just fine when cold, but shut it off when warm and it will not start again for 30-45 mins. Fuel filter was replaced approx. 3,000 miles ago. We are going to take a fuel pump relay, and code scanner with us as the CEL is on. This is a smalltown we are heading to and no parts stores are open on Sunday when we go, so just trying to think of anything else it could be before we leave. We are thinking maybe fuel pump, but the only when warm kinda throws that off for me.
Any help would be appreciated.

what engine ,how many miles? Could be the coils going south. Also check for leaky fuel pressure regulator. Vaccuum leak?

Is there an autozone near where she lives within reason ? If so have her take it in for a free scan, that`ll help immensely. Assuming the air filter was changed as well and plugs and wires don`t have 110,000 miles on them ............lol. let us know how you make out

Re: 96 Sunfire no start when hot

The nearest Autozone is about 2 hours away!!! Air filter changed about 5,000 miles ago, plugs and wires sure looked kinda new when we looked last time car was in town, but they have only owned he car for about 10,000 miles.

We are gonna take intake cleaner to see if it runs on that first, then we know it is a fuel problem, also regulator if it is this. Gonna take ignition coil, but from what I have heard they are a b**ch to change on the automatics?! We are only gonna have a few hours there, so hopefully it is not coil. Obviously gonna take my scanner to see if this pinpoints the problem, and as many tools as I can think of that maybe useful.

Thanks for continued interest and help.
