..ok..replaced the radiator(hoses too) because it was cracked..no big deal.so i check the coolant a couple days later and noticed the upper hose keeps collapsing.its the 2.2 engine(no vtec)auto trans...got me stumped.never heard of a thermostst causing this condition.no luck under the forums search either...any help is much appreciated.....Matt

Did you bleed the cooling system around the thermostat afterwards?
I did the thermostat on a 96 accord once, there was a bleed nipple (similar to a brake caliper bleed nipple) which was necessary to get the air out. |

i havent replaced the thermostat yet. i did not see a bleed valve at the housing when i did the hoses.im gonna replace the thermostat tonight and make sure that i get the system bled correctly.thnx for the advice....Matt

There is a vacuum release valve (a 'drop valve') in your radiator cap which is likely stuck closed. Free up the valve or replace the radiator cap and you should be okay.
