headlight turn signal trouble

I went to change out my gauge cluster to a canadian one and only one headlight comes on now it stays on bright even on the cluster. my turn signals work but when io cut my right one on my left corner blinks too. i even changed the turn signal and headlight switches and put the original cluster back in but no luck.and i have tried the ground coming off of the cluster harness.

Computer won't have anything to do with his headlights and blinker, so completely ignore that post.

Sounds like a bad ground to me, usually something random and crazy like that, its a ground. Start checking your grounds.

You can also install your other gauge cluster again and see if the problem goes away, then you know its in the cluster. But still sounds like a ground issue to me.

Re: headlight turn signal trouble

No, your headlight switch tells the headlights when to come on or off. I don't know about these newer cars what know when its dark outside, or daytime running headlights, but on our cars, its only the switch.

The ECM doesn't control everything our cars do, mostly anything that is related to the engine, everything else doesn't need a computer to tell it what to do. A lot of it is just relays.

Granted, the newer model cars usually have a computer for just about anything and everything, but we are not talking about newer cars.

Re: headlight turn signal trouble

While there are several newer vehicles which use modules to control most everything, including lights, these days, the average vehicle still uses plain old relays to control lights and other things.

Just for future reference.

Do things like this get you far in life? I wouldn't know.. I don't do it... I do know one place it will get you... ignored, temp ban, then eventually banned permanently.

So, please... In the interest of all of us not really caring what bad choices you make... keep stuff like that up.
