95 overheated

Well it's 20 degrees and the 95 ran hot. Found that the belt broke on the water pump and the the tensioner looks very worn. I have had a problem for sometime with the heat or air not blowing as it should, and I think the fans are not kicking on either. It started like a short and when I hit a bump in the road it would come on. Finally it stopped.
Could this have anything to do with belt or the belt have anything to do with the blower not working correctly?
How much would it cost to fix....I am not a mechanic..

Re: 95 overheated

You need to figure out why the water pump belt broke. Most probably cause is that the water pump seized. If that is the case you are looking at $500-$600 to have a dealer replace the water pump, belt and tensioner and possibly the cam pulley.

The blower motor is not related. It is located inside the dash on the passenger side. There are two components that can fail. It is either the blower motor controller or the fan motor itself. Both are located next to each other under the kick panel. I recently had my fan stop working and it was the fan itself, but many people have reported having the controller fail as well. If you have a volt meter you can pretty easily check if its the controller. Eash of those parts are around $100 and you are probably looking at an hour or so of labor to install. Since you mentioned that yours sometimes comes back on when you hit bump it sounds like a failing motor to me.
