Timing Inspection Cover

Working on my 1st Honda. Its a 1992 Honda Accord EX with a manual transmission. Just replaced the clutch and noticed the hole for the timing marks on the flywheel. Does this hole have a dust cover or does the hole remain open? What do you call the darn thing if I were to order one?

Are there any threads that explain how to check the timing? Just wondered in case I need to check it sometime.

Monte

Re: Timing Inspection Cover

if there is a part & i dont think so i'd call it inspection cover/plate as for the timing you do it the same only shining your light on trans hole(pos/neg to battery & inductor lead to #1 plug wire)

Re: Timing Inspection Cover

Thanks for the quick reply inafogg.
To set the timing, do I have to unplug anything to go to base timing like a chevy?
