random wiper park position

i have a 99 chevy LT blazer and today on the way home from work my wipers stated to park at random positions in the intermittent mode. sometimes they would park in the correct position then other times they would park at half way then they would park at 1/4 position. does anyone know what this could be?

I am not sure about your specific year and model, but sometime in the late 90's GM had a huge problem with circuit boards in the wiper box on the firewall. Seems to me the cover is held on with 1 screw and if you remove it, the circuit board is right there. I don't remember if the circuit board had screws or if it just popped in, but there were bad solder joints on the board. Some people re-soldered them while others replaced the boards with new ones.

Hope this helps.

I think it was for all GMC/Chevys Trucks from '95 to '01. It was a special recall notice from GM, and it expired at 7 yr/70k miles. I missed the recall by 2 months (because my board didn't fail til after the 7 years period). I pissed and moaned, to no avail, directly to GM.

My '97 Blazer failed. A buddy at work with a '00 Suburban had the same problem. He had his fixed on the special recall.

The pulse boards are ~$35.00 at most parts stores. I didn't bother with re-soldering, but I've read numerous posts where others had good luck with it.
