IAC testing

What steps or procedures do I need to take to test my IAC on a 95 Eclipse 2.0L non turbo?

Re: IAC testing

You test the resistence between pins 1 and 4, and test 2 and 3. I believe you should get around 35ohms at 70F

Not only is it extremely difficult to test these small/thin pins with my mulitmeter, but no matter how many times I tried I got readings ranging from nothing to 120 ohms and readings in between.

But you did answer my question.....so kudos to you. thanx.

This is my whole main issue.....do I spend money on the IAC or ask for assistance here on testing as much as I can before possibly wasting money.

Buy a new one and that's not your problem, then you have a spare or you can sell it on eBay or something.

Buy a new one and it is your problem, well, problem solved.

Re: IAC testing

Buy a new one and if it doesn't fix the problem then take it back.

I paid $60 for mine, and have replaced 2. The ISC on the 4g63 motors are like what $200+. Ours is pretty decent. Hope that fixes the problem. Good luck.

Thumbs up Re: IAC testing

Well.....bought the new IAC and installed it today. IDLES LIKE A NEW CAR
It was a bit expensive for my low budget taste, but gotta do whatcha gotta do. Thanx guys for all the assist.

One more small insugnifigant question.......Why does the a/c switch have two settings? both blow cold air, but one setting lights up "yellow" and the other setting lights up "green".
