2000 Dash in to a 96 or cab swap

Have a couple s10's 96 4.3 vortec auto beat down runs good and 2000 2.2 blown motor nice cab how hard is it to change dash over too 96 or will 4.3 auto go back into 2.2 5 speed.Any help would be appreciated.

A salvage yard interchange book has a lot of interchange info.
