Unhappy 92 Driver Window Problem

Hey folks, got a 92 chevy regular cab and the electric driver window just stopped working, absolutely no problems and then stopped. It is in the up position, thank goodness, but it won't move at all now. The passenger side still works. I pulled the door panel and everything looks ok, no loose wires or such. Can the motor (regulator) just crud out like that on these things?

Re: 92 Driver Window Problem

Check the switch for switching power and ground to the window motor.
Remember the switch reverses power on the two wires to motor for up and down.

Re: 92 Driver Window Problem

Checked the switch and wires and they seem to be good. Now the window will move up and down except that there is a "click" when it is moving now. There are three "clicks" when going up and when going down. Also when it clicks going up I have to lift the window with my hand to keep it going or else it will stop. Like I have to unload the motor to keep it going. I feels like a tooth is missing in gear. Also, when it hits full up it will contiue to try and lift the window and it click/grind in place if I don't let go of the switch in time.

I'll try and get to pull the door panel this next weekend to see what I can see, any else come across this before?

Re: 92 Driver Window Problem

Pull the motor and check gear on end and also the teeth on window regulator.
And take care be carefull some of the regulator's are spring loaded and will chop fingers up or off.
