93 Accord - random starting problem
I have a 93 Accord that the engine will occaissionally die as soon as it starts. The D4 light begins to blink, and the engine will refuse to start after this. However, if I put the car in neutral, and push it for a few feet, it will start no problem. I have had this problem for a couple years, but it was very rare (happening once every 4 or 5 months). Yet, I started a new job about two months ago that requires a lot of driving--including starting and stopping--and have had this problem occur about 10 times.
I have tried getting the ECU codes, but I don't see any flashing lights on the ECU under the passenger's carpet. And, I tried jumping the service connector to get any codes from the check engine light, but that just turns on then off like it does with a normal start (maybe I'm doing it wrong, I'm not entirely sure). I'll probably be taking it in for service next week, but if anyway has any ideas or information, I would be grateful. Thanks. UPDATE: I figure out how to properly jump the service connector, and the light is solid--no blinking, nor does it turn off. Last edited by tinonso; 09-20-2008 at 06:03 PM. |

Re: 93 Accord - random starting problem
It's your main relay. Resolder the joints will resolve the problem. Do a search, you will find the info you need.

Re: 93 Accord - random starting problem
There was a D4 blinking issues in this forum somewhere but it was related to bad transmission. Try finding it, maybe that might help.
