Results from my Emissions test...

Ok so back on Apr-17 I took my car through emissions testing and I meant to post he results to try to get some help passing before breaking my pockets messing with repair shops. Here were the results....

Hydrocarbons (HC) :

State Standards : 1.4000 GPM
My Results : 7.0578 GPM FAIL!!!!

Carbon Monoxide (CO) :

State Standards : 30.0000 GPM
My Results (Which I'm kinda proud of ) 286.1601 GPM FAIL!!!

Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx)

State Standards : 2.5000 GPM
My Results : 0.3114 GPM PASS!!!

Ok so what can make me fail 2/3 and why would I pass the third?

I'm pretty sure I had a gas leak from the fuel pump to the carb when I got tested the first time which is now fixed. A little info for ya.

Check your ignition system, fully. Check the cap, rotor, coil, plugs and wires. Replace the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Properly gap the plugs and double check the ignition timing using a good quality inductive type timing light.

Check for vacuum leaks throughout the system. Check the brake booster and evaporative systems as well. Clean the carburetor using the spray carb cleaner. Ensure you are not using 'stale gas', i.e. the gasoline in the tank is not more than 3 months old.

Replace the air filter. Check the operation of the PCV valve - it should rattle when you move it. If it does not, replace it.

Gross polluting vehicles such as yours almost always are a result of some degree of mixture of ignition system maladies and vacuum leaks.

this appears to be an overly rich running engine....co is way too high...

I bet your plugs are black in color not a light brown..too much gas not enough oxygen....could be EGR ...
