I need some help.

Hey everyone i havent been on in a long time, hope everyone is doin good.
Anyway to the point, i need a front license plate for my car and i refuse to screw one into the bumper. There is what appears to be a mount in the front but it is clearly ot designed for an american plate. So my question is where do i get a mount that i dont have to screw into the front end, or can i order a plate to fit the existing mount? Also will it cause my car to overheat?

Re: I need some help.

I kept mine in the windshield for a while...but eventually just took it off completely. My theory is...unless they pull you over for something else and want to be a dick, you probably wont have to worry about it. And even if they do get you for speeding of something, maybe if they're having a good day they let you off with just a no front plate ticket.

Mine is now mounted on my wall above my computer. I've had my car for more than 3 years, had the plate on for less than 1, no tickets so far. If i ever do get stopped, i'm just going to tell them theres no mounting holes and i refuse to drill holes in my bumper. i'll pay the fine if i gotta.

Re: I need some help.

There is a bracket you can order. I believe the part number is MR248258 from Mitsu. I'm pretty sure you still need to drill holes though to mount the bracket. My dad forced me to buy one when I got my Eclipse way back when but I never installed it.

Re: I need some help.

Thanks for the response but not putting one on is not an option, im getting pulled over at least once a week for it and im getting pissed. Is the existing mount for a euro plate?

Re: I need some help.

if your talking about the 2 tabs kind of up and inside the 'mouth', those are just mounting points for the bracket. What i would do, if you have no other option, is use body moulding tape...you can get it at any autoparts store. At least that way you wont have to drill holes.

But just FYI...i'm almost positive that having it in your windshield IS legal...

Re: I need some help.

Ok that makes sense, unfortunately here in texas having it in the window is not legal. Can you order the mounting bracket at the dealership or an auto parts store?

Re: I need some help.

You can get one from the dealer. I would suggest mounting it upside down so the screws that protrude from the back does not mark up the bumper.
