1997 lumina 3.1 oxygen sensor

Hello, i decided to replace both my oxygen sensors since im doing a tune-up and my car is arround 100,000 and i was wondering where the upstream sensor is located and how much working room i would have? do i have to pull anything out of the way? do i have to use a oxygen sensor socket or could i use an open end wrench to get it off?

Thanks for any help.

Just off the rear manifold, about 6 inches down he pipe, use an O2 socket or 13/16 box wrench.

Correct, remember that one has no affect on mileage or performance.

Re: 1997 lumina 3.1 oxygen sensor

I just recieved my oxygen sensors today and i tried the 13/16 wrench and it was the wrong size, i was either going to use that or buy a sensor socket. What is the correct size wrench or are all the sensors the same size? i need to know if i go to buy a sensor socket.

Thanks
