Ferrari 248 F1 Fujimi (Extreme Detailed!)

This will be my next extreme detailed project. Building the final battle F1 car of Michael Schumacher in detail has always been my dream for sometime. and finally after an excellent shopping trip in Hong Kong, I got myself two Fujimi 248 F1 kits! But i am gonna keep one for spare or future build. Initially i was deciding whether should i have a dual build along side with the new F2007 by Fujimi as well, but finally made up my mind just to concentrate on just 248 F1. This will really take some time, so guys please bear with my extreme slow progress as well. Right now im still collecting all inaccuracies or absent detail area information but nevertheless i did open up the kits started very very slightly....

Firstly, realizing the cowling is molded together as one piece with the rest of body, i cut it out using knife and saw.

From this point onwards, to my much alarm, everything is wrong, there should be 5 opening vents instead of 6 on the left sidepod. The angle, size, distance between vents are wrong as well! Oh man, i guess this gonna take me a lot of effort. I must have the determination to correct this.

Vents are opened here as well with some digging and sanding

Thanks for looking

Hi, thanks for the info! I might be getting it but actually i have tons of pictures of 248 F1 but just couldnt find good pictures of left sidepods in the Brazilian GP. . But according formula1.com technical, it proves Fujimi's 6 vents on the left are wrong and should be 5 instead.

Hi, thanks for that too. I have looked at this video some time ago already. This guy is really good and i love how neat he is! But anyway, back to my main concerns of the number of vents at the sidepods for Brazil GP, im afraid he got them wrong. Still, he got so much attributes that i hope i can pick up.

Thanks for the info guys. Well, i have actually removed the molded side vents and replaced by brass sheets to replicate the 5 vents. Hopefully i will post more pictures when i have more progress. Thanks!

Re: Ferrari 248 F1 Fujimi (Extreme Detailed!)

Hi all, time for some updates. There's alot of work being done but I'm just going to show some of my progress. I have not go into paintwork yet due to the reason that there are just too many areas to add for an F1 car. There will be areas I may miss out definitely. Nevertheless, I have most of the main components/areas sorted out. And in the mean time, if any of you guys noted i have missed out certain area of details, please feel free to highlight to me and i can check/add to my existing 'to detail list'.

The engine cover is still slightly misfitted and thus i will be adding a thin plastic sheet to fix this, forget about the air vents which i used brass to reconstruct, because the number of vents should be six instead of five. I dont know why the official f1 website say 5 which led to this grave mistake

I have make the fuel cover movable

I have enlarge the fuel injection area

After studying the photoetched parts by Hobby Design

Thanks for looking
