96 t-bird with a P1443 code

i believe P1443 is the code its the one thats for the EVAP purge valve/sensro

i took the sensor off and the lttle "T" thing and hooked it up to my battery. the valve sounded like it opened and closed

so now i dont know what it could be maybe im not getting power TO the switch?

the car runs fine but randomly it just starts to run really really rough for like 10 seconds then runs normal

any ideas?? maybe a MAF

I'd start by checking all of the vacuum lines to see if any of them are split or cracked.
