Porsche 962

It's not F1 but it's pretty quiet the same

So, here we have a Revell 962 repacked kit from Hasegawa. But for first I need to got some references:

I replaced original decals with more original Rothmans from LeMans 87':

I need details, so front door was cuted out!

A couple oh holes for antenas, sensor and other stuff:

I need to scthrach built entry to cabin on drivers side:

Original seats in grat but not if you cut out the doors:

Before

After

Dashboard is realy grat detailed. I just need to drill out a couple of hoals for keys and trigers:

I will also made detailed CPU:

And for finishing today modeling day I drill holes for couple of nets in cabin.

That's all folks for today!

If you'd like to check out some reference of this privately owned Le Mans winning 962, you can go to my Photobucket album.

Re: Porsche 962

I need to corect myselfe. I will not built a LeMans car but a 962 with Rothmans livery. Because Revell kit just don't give me that detail witch I need to built a LeMans car. I saw many picturies of different version 962, now I will just combinate what I could. My goal is a Rothmans scheme of 962 for hm....friday testing

Re: Porsche 962

Nice project, i will follow this.

Judging by your photos the blue on Revellīs decals seem to be to dark and on those of Museum Collection(?) too bright.
What would you say?

Re: Porsche 962

The complete set from Revell represents the version participated in race in Monza 1986. So it too not a bad variant.

Re: Porsche 962

I am building this kit also and it is very innacurate. The kit is of an 89 or later 962. The rules were changed in 88 to reduce ground efffects and the top of the ground effects tunnels had to be below the rear axles. There were no Rothman cars past 1987 except maybe one at Fuji that I know of. It would take an extensevie re-work to fix. Alsa the exhaust panel needs to be reworked. Also the rear brake ducts should be removed and the body made level there leaving the hole.

Looks great!

Very good job on the wheel covers and dash. I like your taste in pornography!

Re: Porsche 962

A little update of 962:

I scratch Interior. Pedals, acumulator, cockpit...:

Body has been painted. Cartograf decals are strong and hard to roll them over curves:

So far for now...
