Spark Plugs

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt & it has been sputtering & i looked under the hood to change the spark plugs but i didnt see any. Can any one please tell me where under the hood is the spark plugs for this car? Any advise would be apreachiated

There is a cover in the center of the engine that runs from the front to the rear (more than likely says Ecotec on it, and I think I remember some lines on it), it has an electrical connector on the rear. Unplug the connector and remove that cover and the spark plugs are down below.
