Olympic Events

who's watching? i'm curious what events are going to be watched by more people?

with DVR we have the luxery of recording it all. I have a feeling we'll end up watching more events than usual.

basketball
track & field
swimming
gymnastics

Yup same here Amy. The opening ceremonies were intense last night. I'm watching some volleyball right now while my car gets inspected. I am looking forward to watching the gymnastics and the track and field.

Re: Olympic Events

I watched the opening. That was pretty sweet with the 2K plus synchronized drummers. I pretty much stick with the gymnastics and boxing. They are truely the best of the best.

Re: Olympic Events

I watched some Women's Sychronized Diving (which I didn't even know was an event) earlier at my local American Legion post and then some of the gymnatics.

I still remember being in love with Nadia Comenici (spelling?), the Romanian gymnast, back in 1976. She was about 14 and I was 12.

Did you know that an Aussie place 3rd at today's NASCAR race at Watkin's Glen NY? Trying to remember the name.

Oh yeah, Marcos Ambrose. Heard him on the post race interview and realized that the accent was pure Aussie.

Re: Olympic Events

while watching basketball (us vs. china) I started to wonder if Yoa Ming felt like it was him vs. the nba?

when I was a kid my dad took me down to watch the guy run down the street with the torch for the 1984 olympics. I think that event in my life, the ohh & ahh factor, is why it's so interesting to me as an adult?!?!

Re: Olympic Events

Tivo the opening ceromonies, which I've yet to watch, and swim which I'm watching it all today. The parts I like. Next is soccer and that's really it. Volleyball grabbed my attention though for the few seconds I saw.

No, but Marcus Ambrose used to be one of the top V8 drivers in Australia, I'm not surprised.

And we don't have an accent, you guys do
