Unhappy Sold the bike today...

I got rid of the dinosaur today. It was old, faded, ugly, and worn out........and I miss it already...

I hate to sell stuff....I am a major pack rat.

Now, its off to look at an R6 Yamaha.
Its an '08 and its yellow with tribal graphics that kinda look like the factory flame graphics, until your eyes focus then its.....its....just effin sweet...
I will post some crappy cell phone pics if I get it.

That being said, I will probably get a bland leftover '07 model because they are dirt cheap since everyone has one.

Re: Sold the bike today...

The place I went to is also a Harley dealer so they had custom paint jobs (as LOW as $1500, for a glorified sticker.. )
It was nice but not $2300 extra worth of nice.......

I "settled" and got the factory stickers.... I think its just as cool. The flames are not as big as the tribal graphics were, but I still got a yellow one..
Heres some crappy cell pictures as promised....

I got it out the back of my truck onto the porch, where I can just ride down my ramp....

4 tenths of a mile when I got it. Now it only has 39 miles. I had to ride to my dads and talk about it for 5 hours or so.. (and gave him the money I owe him for fathers day. )

In one day more people have messed with me then a whole year of riding my old bike.....why do people always want to see some youtube s#*t?

Why didn't you tell me.."sounds like that "artist" ripped off the orange CBR graphics" or something to that effect?? (it was different, but you could tell where he got the "inspiration")....I'm SO glad I didn't get that bike.

Oh, I have only 277 miles on mine now....damn sunburn spots

Re: Sold the bike today...

Nice bike!! Keep the rubber side down and have fun!! I've put over 2k on my bike this year already, and it would be more if I wasn't stupid enough to believe the weather idiots. From now on, if it isn't raining when I leave for work, I take the bike.

Re: Sold the bike today...

Thank you, thank you.

Right now I am super pissed. My first service is set for this Friday. They told me to get the first service done around 600 miles, "but don't go over 1,000" and my dumb ass has 998 miles on it now. AND its supposed to be nice out today and now that I checked my mileage it will be nice all week! .....I can't think of the proper swear word to describe that......(I left it on trip and reset it whenever I filled up to use as a fuel gauge, since it only has a low fuel light. )

here's better pic, I am using it in my sig....

rich, our local weather stations can't get the weather right, its always "severe thunderstorms possible"....Now, I check two sites...
http://weather.unisys.com/radar/rad_mw_loop.html
and
http://www.intellicast.com/National/...ation=USMI0229
Between the two I usually make my own guess as to when/where it will ACTUALLY rain, and if I am ok to ride. It works! My first time I guessed it would rain at work between 7:30 and 9:00 for about 15 to 20 minutes. It rained at 8:57 till about 9:20 or so. I was pissed because I didnt ride that day, but happy because I found something that works.

Re: Sold the bike today...

I finally topped 1k miles on my bike while out on my scoot today. I was pretty geeked.

Now if only I could fix some of the lil things that bug me... like Pittsburgh weather and having quite possibly one of the worst jobs in existence.

HA! I could go for hours about how much my job sucks! I would compare it to a preschool teacher. Or a baby sitter. I don't get paid any extra, they just leave me mess' to clean up.
I got a death threat from a customer two weeks ago....
...I would quit but I wouldnt make this much money anywhere else.....

And that pic I added, thats white paint under the bike where I painted the covered part of the porch. Not oil or bird crap.

Darlin, I AM a teacher.

Today was pretty much the final straw... I am about 98% sure I'm moving - whether my company supports me or not is up to them, but I have HAD it.

I like the bike. Yellow = roxx0rs

Every job has it suck moments, join the club. I would like to get my hands on the idiot that coined the phrase " the customer is always right". I would pimp slap him like the worm he is. I think it should be manditory for every snot-nosed, silver-spoon fed little ass-pimple to have to work on the service side of the counter for at least a month. That way, they'd be a little nicer on the customer side.

Sure it doesn't leak, and my Harley just marks it's spot (actually my bike doesn't leak anything, but it's funny so I'll throw it out there.) If your bike was Red, you'd have bird doo everywhere. I swear they fly from miles around to dive bomb my Grand Prix!!!

I worked in a bad area for a while and had a customer threaten to shoot me when I left work that day over busting him trying to shoplift. I told him that he better not be in the parking lot when I leave cuz I have a CCW, and since he already threatened me and I had witnesses, I'll shoot first and ask questions later. Sometimes you gotta act crazier than the crazy.

.....for example, in all heavy duty diesels the cams are gear driven. A way to shortcut is to use a paint marker to mark the gear teeth, then once its back together double check it against TDC on #1 cylinder. A tech asked me "where do I mark the gears?" UNFORTUNATELY my exact words were "I don't care, just anywhere two teeth meet" and later on he asked me to double check his work. I asked "do your paint marks line up?"
- "Uh, I think so, Yeah"
me - "WTF you mean, you think so?!?!?"
- "yeah, I think they line up"
I was starting to get mad when I was walking over to look and seen the paint mark. He had marked EVERYWHERE two teeth touched. It looked like a big smiley face on the gear. Then I remembered how I phrased my answer to his "where do I mark them" question....

Mine was a Russian dude and he threatened to blow up our building (as well as sue the company and report us to the BBB, I not sure in what order he was planning on doing that in... )
