Carisma wrong octane fuel filled up

I have by mistake filled the tank up of my Carisma with a law octane petrol, and I am experiencing that the enginge goes off when I move my foot off the gas pedal. Otherwise its working fine, but its very annoying what I am experiencing. Also the petrol lamp lights on at the start of the engine and gets stuck for a while, today I experienced that it kept lighting for quite long before it disappeared.
I was wondering how can I overcome this problem and whether it will make any major effects on the engine. So far there are no knocking from the engine, and have been driving it for 2 days now. The tank is still almost full, and hae ben told that I should refill the tank with a higher octane when its 3/4 full, and then refill it when it is ½ full.
Besides that the Emission light also lights after the engine is stopped.
Octane booster is it something that will help at this moment?
Any comments are highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Re: Carisma wrong octane fuel filled up

done it before
just brave it out, it'll go away. yes, octane booster might work. matter of fact, there's always a drain plug in any gas tank. so you can just drain it into proper container and refill with the correct gas.
when you done with that gas, run a can of seafoam through the tankful of gas. petrol, sorry.
