Tip for leaky weatherstripping

My rear glass was leaking into the rear cargo space/trunk. If you're not particular about aesthetics, instead of replacing the entire weatherstripping on your rear window (if you've got a tailgate like my '96 Tahoe) then try this.

I bought the adhesive $1.99 roll from Wally World and ran it on top of the existing weather stripping in the back, and this went on very easily over the length of the weatherstripping. Water marks showed pretty clearly where the water was dripping down, and I was able to put a long strip from one end to the other even with the bends in the top corners.

It's been on several weeks now and no leaks. The overlapping weatherstripping compresses with the glass when it's closed to keep it in place, and the adhesive seems to work great.

Hope this helps someone who runs into the same problem I had.
