Helium

Allright someone has told me that they had there truck tires filled with helium and has improved there gas mileage by 2 mpg on the highway. The vehicle is a 1500 Ram with 20's by the way. I am just wondering if anyone else has attempted this yet. I am not a firm believer in it after googling it. Seems like to much problems with using helium.

considering that texas is the helium capital of the world, and there are only 16 plants that produce it, and it is used in welding, and to cool super conductors, and that there is a shortage of it, I will stick with good old air out of my compressor.

helium is a high priced add in to get 2mpg and you'd have to tie it when you parked it

I believe 90% of the worlds helium is from texas, usa...but even if you could fill your tires with this gas, for no cost, it would not be recommended , because this gas would very rapidly leak out.....this gas is not very dense....when i worked in the R&D on Lasers this gas was used to find leaks in electron beam devices....
