Unhappy 2004 Grand Caravan burning oil?

I know it is annoying for those of you who work hard to answer repeat posts. I checked and have not seen this one yet. I have an 04 Grand Caravan with 37,000 miles on it. It is burning approximately 1 quart every 1000 miles. I am using the proper oil, and the oil has been changed at the appropriate times. No oil is showing underneath. The Dodge service writer is trying to tell me that this could be very normal. I find it hard to believe. Any suggestions or ideas?

Which engine?
Has it done this since new?
Is it under warranty?
Do you see any evidence of the oil consumption at the tailpipe?

Do a compression check to see if there is a weak clyinder.
Have you changed PCV?
