2000 Bravada humming noise

When Im in drive, going straight or turning left, my Bravada is making a humming noise. When I make a right hand turn, the noise goes away. Almost sounds like a tire is running flat. All 4 tires are filled to spec so that's not it. A friend suggested a ball joint or wheel bearing. Any thoughts on this?

Definitely a wheel bearing going out. I'd get it checked out before too long, it's dangerous to drive them when they're bad.

How easy is it to do myself? My friend had to do it a couple times to his Ford truck. Do you think its similar to that? Whats the difference in price from a shop or myself?

If he has done it before, it shouldn't be too hard to do it. I am sure that there are differences between the two vehicles, but also similarities. I have a bad wheel bearing on my 2000 and I plan on doing it this weekend. Plan for a day or so, it may take a while. Good Luck.

after you do it, please send me a note describing it and how easy/hard it was. my buddy is out of town for a week and i need to do mine before that so ill be flying solo. my local auto store has no manual for me so if you know of an online diagram please let me know. thanks

After having this all planned out, I was not able to replace the wheel bearing this weekend. The weather wasn't the greatest here, and you would think having a 3 stall garage, I would find the room to do it...but the cleaning never got done either! I will try to find the time this week. I will post instructions soon.
