Looking for..Fiberglass Enclosure

I have two 10" Rockford P2's and they are currently in a ported enclosure. The box weighs 71lb. and that is tooo much for my cavalier to be lugging around. Would anyone on here be willing to build me one for a reasonable price? That is out of fiberglass not wood.

You can email me If anyone is intrested at [email protected]

Thanks.

Re: Looking for..Fiberglass Enclosure

Fiberglass isn't light either once is all properly supported and many of these are built right into peoples cars. Many hours go into them ( 30hrs easily) then try having it shipped, its going to have to be shipped freight ( 150 easily there for shipping alone)

Why not just get a MDF box from best buy for $100 bucks and weight around 40-50lbs?

Re: Looking for..Fiberglass Enclosure

I never knew fiberglass weighed just as much as wood. If I get a MDF box will any of my sound quality be less and does it have to be a ported box?

Another question..so If my current box is 71lb. will there be a better improvement with 40-50lb?Will I notice a diffrence?

Thanks for all the info.

Re: Looking for..Fiberglass Enclosure

I'm not sure, I hate subs. I get enough bass for my taste out of my Infinity Kappas.

So i don't know what a ported box and normal one will do for you. Maybe someone else will chime in. Every 100lbs is .1 of a second on the 1/4 mile.

Re: Looking for..Fiberglass Enclosure

with p2's you can get away with using 1/2inch mdf to make your box that would cut your weight down...

if you really want to get snazzy, go with one sub and build it into your spare tire hole.. that way you only need 1 peice of mdf for the plate..

1 sub is only 3db's less than 2.. but you dont need as much power - so your amp would work better and you would have "cleaner" sound (plus you only need half the box for 1 sub!
