91 auto = junk??

i,m looking at 1991 miata with automatic transmission. about 68,000. should i be concerned about the valve lash problem? is it prominent? also is the engine "interference" . don,t know if timing belt has been changed.price = about $2350. thanks.

Engine is non intereference. $2350 sounds too high for a timing belt replacement. It's not too difficult to check valve lash, usually no adjustment is required.
