94 caprice w/5.7:
when my car completly warms up i have a problem with major hesitation. but only if car is in reverse of if i barely put my foot on the gas from a dead stop. i already replaced the fuel filter had the transmission rebuilt IAC replaced and a recent tune up about 6 months ago. do you think it could possibly be the distributor or ignition control module or a faulty ignition coil. and i also i have an electrical problem when i turn on my turn signal or hazard lights the headlights dim a little but i just replaced the altenator and had it checked on many occassions could there be another problem with my electrical system. |

Re: possible distributor failure
When was the distributor cap and rotor last replaced????
People like to blindly curse this distributor setup when they fail to replace the normal tuneup items. When that happens I consider it more of an owner problem than a distributor problem. The 94s are prone to electrical problems with the original zinc auxilliary power stud by the underhood fuse box. There was a bulletin from GM on this to replace it with brass.

Re: possible distributor failure
You could check out the Throttle Position Sensor, those will cause hesitation if they go out. As far as electrical you should check your wires on the alternator. May also want to consider replacing your flashers. I know it sounds weird but the chevy i have had an electrical light problem and it was fixed with new flashers. I still don't get it honestly just got lucky lol. That helps sometimes. Good luck.
