NO HEADLIGHTS....on a 98 Cav

I just bought a 98 today. 2 door convertible.

The low beams do NOT work.

I swapped the DRL relay from the one in my bonneville..same problem....same relay etc.

The DRLs work just fine, all the other lights work, and the brights work. When the headlight switch is on the interior lights dimm.

I put the car and turned on the headlights and still nothing, the other lights work except the 2 headlights. With the motor on the DRLs work when it is in gear.

I swapped bulbs as well and swapped fuses in the door fuse box for each headlight.

Any idea whats going on? Where does the wiring to the headlights go for the low beams

Re: NO HEADLIGHTS....on a 98 Cav

Everything goes from the light switch to the lights and dimmer switch. Probably has to do with the dimmer switch in the steering column since it only affects dims. Probably a short. Do you have a tilt steering wheel? Sometimes the flexing of the wiring harness with a tilt wheel can break/short wiring going through the column. Seen this with cruise controls and air bags in GM and Ford products.

check for a bad splice (blue wire) up front across rad between headlights
