Re: My amplifier will be ok for my Sub ?!

I looked for at least 20 min trying to find an rms power on this amp with no help. It says 350x2 total which is usually peak which means it "should" produce 175 rmsx2. The reason i am saying "should" is because companies like pyramid generally dont produce anywhere near what they are rated, even for RMS. What im trying to say is this amp wouldnt even make my balls tingle if it was hooked up to them.

As for the sub never read the peak power you will want an amp that produces 300 watts rms from a good brand. You really do not run a chance of blowing the sub with this amp as long as you do not clip the hell out of the amp.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: My amplifier will be ok for my Sub ?!

you will be fine, that amp probably doesnt even put out anywhere close to 150w let alone 350x2, just make sure you send it a clean signal.

if they're the 1230w's they will take 600w rms all day, i had a pair off a hifonic bxi1206D @ 2 ohm for awhile.

For who best buy, no professional audio installer would tell someone to crank the gains without using some sort of proper tuning. Thats a very easy way to make a subwoofer into a very large paper weight.

Re: My amplifier will be ok for my Sub ?!

well you will be OK, but you need a amp to push your sub, because3 you could have issues later. your sub is made to pound your the heck out your nuts. I was told that using a small amp for a big watt sub could eventually hurt your sub. because it not being used to its full potential. It did not make sense to me, but it had something to do with the coil on the sub.I would go ahead and hook up, bridge the sub if your amp does that? then get another amp like that one hook them up in a series. check outhttp://www.cardomain.com/id/i1drunkmunke what I have done with my truck, I have a 550 watt amp bridged sub which means I get the full 550 watts from my amp. I am going to spl system this summerhttp://www.splusa.net/

Re: My amplifier will be ok for my Sub ?!

I do recommend getting another amp, same brand same amp run them in a series. That way you can have a cleaner sound at high volumes.

Are you just running one sub? what vehicle is it going in?

I am putting in a capacitor (1fared) that stores energy so when the bass hits it uses that energy in stead of the battery.

There is no reason why anyone would want to have 1 pyramid amp, let alone two. I'd reccomend a better brand of amp all around. Why get a two channel amp for a sub when you can get a perfectly nice monoblock? There are literaly tons of mono amps pushing 300W RMS all over the place, lots of decent ones are fairly cheap.

Anyways you should really read up on what a cap actually does... it does store energy, but it doesn't prevent energy from being taken from the battery. It takes the load off the alternator, and most of the time you really don't need it, unless you're pushing 1000w rms on a beater civic.

Re: My amplifier will be ok for my Sub ?!

ok, enough bashing fella's .... we all know pyramid is a low cost, low quaity amp - but some people may not be able to afford anything better.

And Patrick ... why in the world would anyone post their phone # online, especially on their first post.
