Exclamation 95 Grand am fuse or relay switch

ive got a 1995 pontiac grand am se 2.3 L Quad 4 DOHC and its got around 100,000 miles. i turned on my lights the other night and nothing came on i flipped the switch over again and they came on and worked for the rest of the night. next day none of my park lights work no dashboard lights a/c heater lights front park lights or tailights everything else is fine. i dont know if its a fuse i checked the fuses on the inside drivers door and the fuses are all good but i know theres another fuse box under the hood and i dont know where it is to check ive looked around under the hood. a mechanic in town told me if it wasnt a fuse it was something inside the turn signal and it would cost around a 150 to replace it.

Re: 95 Grand am fuse or relay switch

I think the park lights fuse is in the dash fuse block. The underhood one is in the right rear corner of the engine compartment... I think.

From what you described it does sound like the switch is bad... if it were a fuse they wouldn't have come on the second time you tried.

Re: 95 Grand am fuse or relay switch

yea probably right a fuse would be to easy and cheap and i dont have that kinda luck thanx tho. dont know much about cars do a few oil changes myself but every few oil changes ill bring it into a shop and have them look under the hood a little for me they came back saying something about the upper ball joint on the passenger side wouldnt take grease i guess that has something to do with turning but deos it need replaced? how much would it cost to do? because i know i couldnt do it myself.

UPPER ball joint!? G/As don't have an upper ball joint. You might want to get a second opinion on that. They have a lower ball joint, and a strut mount. The strut mount is not greasable either.

Usually if something wont take grease, it just needs a new fitting, which costs a few cents and takes a minute to install.
