AC Compressors Manufacturers for Replacements..
Going to replace the original compressor (and other AC parts) on a 1998 K1500. Anyone have feedback on replacement compressor manufacturers? Any to stay away from? Any other tips would also be appreciated.
Thanks, |

Take a look at the Sanden HT6 compressor. $195 + shipping on eBay. When buying the compressor, ask for the sealing rings and they will usually throw them in at no charge. You might want to stay away from the OEM compressor as it is not “keyed” and will twist, eventually causing a body leak. They commonly call the OEM compressors “Belly Leakers” for a reason. Definitely stay away from a remanufactured compressor. While you are at it, consider changing the accumulator and orifice at the same time. Other than that, follow the standard charging procedure. Good luck!!! |
