i want to lower my prelude-what did you do???
heres he problem...trying to lower my 93 prelude and im having a hell of a time doing it. should be simple enough buuuuut....first i tried a set of matrix adjustable coilovers, they barely lowered it and the ride quality was shit! so i figured, cheap coilovers, ill go higher end. went with neuspeed lowering springs, they were supposed to go down 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the back. well after i put them on the ride quality was as good as stock, but they didnt go down AT ALL!! please let me know what you did to lower your p-lude so i can try something else. ive already spent over $350 and hours and hours doing this with no good results. please help!!

Re: i want to lower my prelude-what did you do???
im surprised the neuspeed stuff didnt do the trick. but anyways, a couple things to remember. dont get the sleeve over crap. yknow the generic sized springs with adjustable perches that you use with stock dampers. throw all those options in the trash. next, buy some better dampers all around. i like tokico/kyb for the cheap end, or koni for some better ones. you shouldnt ever lower your car on stock dampers. after that, call up ground control or progress technology and see what they say. keep in mind lowering usually has an effect on ride quality, and you cant always find a good comprimise going too low. but progress/GC both have tons of experience racing and modifying hondas, they would have a solution for you.
EDIT: oh and you might tell the progress/GC guys which dampers you have. finding ride quality is basically finding springs/dampers that complement each other on the road style you drive on.

Re: i want to lower my prelude-what did you do???
This might help a little.... I own a 93 prelude si.. I went on ebay and bought KYB GR-2 struts and shocks.. about 200 or less, also went kinda cheap on the springs and got a set of espiler super low. its about 1.4 front and .8 rear.. the ride hight is about 1.6 lower in front and 1" lower in the rear. but paired up with strut braces it handles like a dream and ride quality isnt bad. it is a little bumpy at times but its also not a lexus... but also when you get that dont buy new control arm bushings if they need to be replaced... hope this helps about a little.

Re: i want to lower my prelude-what did you do???
When I first installed my Neuspeed Sport springs the height was not noticably different, but after a few weeks of driving around the suspension "settled in" and the lower height became noticable.
