95 lumina ls Issues

Hi Iam new to forums So bear with me. I recently got a 95 lumina ls 3.4 l engine from a family member. Car Has 88k miles and runs good but There is what seems to be a tranny leak coming from the front of the engine under/behind what looks like a heat shield. I do not have a good way of getting under the car to inspect. I don't want to go though insurance/registration to only fail a inspection is there any common issues known or a better way to check it my self. Before i spend any more MONEY Is there any tips tricks or help, Ohh and Tranny was flushed at 60k miles Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer any advice

Re: 95 lumina ls Issues

Look down at the driver's side of the radiator for the two pressure lines that carry tranny fluid to the transcooler...follow them up to the tranny, see if they are leaking from one of the connectors...they disconnect them to flush, maybe one's leaking...

Leakage would not stop you from passing inspection, unless it was brake or power steering fluid...

Re: 95 lumina ls Issues

Well Iam back And finaly had time to get to the car. I bit the bullet and bought some ramps, jack stands and rags and got under the car to inspect. I wiped off most of the grease/oil/ fluids, and sure enough Jeffcoslacker was right After running the car for a short time it was obvious the trans cooler line fittings are my issue. Both fittings are dripping. Is This something I might be able to remidy myself (maybe hoseclamps?) or should I just take it to a shop?
And now For some new questions: I have a airbag light.
And a antilock light on my dash. The rear drum brakes lock up instantly when applying brakes is there a common cause of this?
I also seem to have the common problem of sticky blinkers and malfunctoining brake lights when blinkers are applyed. I have read this is a issue in the steering columm switch , Could it just be greased?
This car was cheap but obviously needs some work. And ruff ideas off how much cash I am looking at?Saying i do what i can myself
Thanks again in advance ..This Forum is awesome

Re: 95 lumina ls Issues

Air bag actuator might be unplugged.
Definite bad prob with brakes. Should get brake system scanned REPUTABLE shop or dealer, the anti-lock brakes have been disabled by the system itself so it will have codes stored within. This should be done immediatley as it could cause failure.
Please describe blinker & brake light problem more completely.
