96 esi swap into 95 esi
recently hydrolocked my motor bent to conecting rods, cracked the blocked, did alot of damage on my 95 esi. i found a 96 esi and the guys only asking $350 for it. so its worth it for me to buy it. 1) will it work, im pretty sure it will, 2) his has a/c mine doesnt, so if i remove the motor from his and juss use the 2 belts ie: 1 for the alternator and 1 for the power steering will it work. and numer 3) will my ecu work with the swap or do i need his??
thanks in advance |

Re: 96 esi swap into 95 esi
The motors are the same in both car. I would do a compression test on the good motor to make sure its still ok. You dont want to buy a motor and swap in it and it not run well. Just get the new block and head. Swap all of your sensors onto the new motor and drop it in. Everything should work fine.
