Brake light stays on and no cruise
My sister has had a problem with her 99 grand am for a while now that the emergency brake light stays on all the time and she can't get her cruise to work. Both happened at the same time so they might be connected I dont know. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Could be a broken cable , might also be the ebrake switch in th e console.

it is probably as simple as adding some brake fluid, the same warning light used for the parking brake on is used for low brake fluid level. The cruise control will not work if it thinks the brake or parking brake is being used.
