Exclamation Driver Side Vent blowing Outside Air

Hi,
Even I put my Air to Recycle, still my Driver side vent blowing outside air. How can I fix it. When A/C or Heat is on this vent will have 80% outside with 20% conditioned air (Conditioned means: Cold or Hot, depends on the season). I also noticed I can't move the knob in this vent to the right.
I got Civc / 1991 / LX / 1.5L
Can you help please?

Thanks,
Mike

If the knob doesnt move at all, the cable attached to it may be stuck/broke.
You may want to pop off that little knob, then pop off the little cover plate. There is a single phillips screw holding it in. Get to this screw from underneith the dash.

How stuck is the knob? Does it move at all? or completly jammed?

Up to the middle position!? Dont they move side to side? Mine blows whatever it feels like it..the linkage is all attached but it doesnt move the flapper in the duct..so sometimes the air has enough power to blow it closed and I get all a/c, and then when I get driving the outside air pushes it back.

Mine really doesn't blow anything if it is closed, but will blow in outside air.

Alright I think I know whats wrong...
Sounds like the actual cable that attaches to the vent unit has came loose, it's only clipped in by a very small plastic clip. This clip holds the outer housing of the cable tight while the inside cable pulls/retracts to open the vent.

My heater controls have the same symptom and it's because the clip is half broke (provides enough tension only to switch to the defrost setting) any other settings the knob becomes tight and will not slide.

If you can figure out a way to secure that cable without buying a new unit let me know, I've had this problem for like 6 years, but I only summer drive my car so I dont really need anything other than defrost

Hope this helps you!

Re: Driver Side Vent blowing Outside Air

Well the vent on the drivers side is a little different. It doesnt use those plastic clips. Mine is firmly mounted and attached right, the arm even moves and all. But the door just doesnt move with it.
