Spring time Mods!

Seams dead... Thought I would see what people are planing on doing to their cars this spring/summer.

Maxima
I've got 2 things I am planning on. I'm rebuilding my front end. New Control arms, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends... Needed to replace all the bushings so why not everything. I'm considering doing the wheel barings, but dont have any signs of problems. I'll pull them out and look at them, maby regrease them if need be. The second thing is replacing the fuel filter, got the 300ZX fuel filter for the maxima.

Datsun
Needs a brake overhaul. I have to take everything apart to see where I'm at and what I need. I have a leak somewhere in my rear brake lines, only my front brakes work.

Other then that, if I have any extra money I'll be sure to try to put it into the maxima, or buy a macbook pro. I have a feeling i am in the need of a new CAT. If thats the case, I would want a full 3" out and bla bla bla, money money money...Car sounds great.

Mid April, Poly and I are doing a lot of fun stuff to his cars. Taking about 4 days and going to Utah.

Re: Spring time Mods!

Finish the turboback, trying out one last new BPV, Cobb Accessport and springs, and some general goodies (silicone boost tubes, paint the intercooler cover, NGK 1 step colder, shifter bushings), start prepping for law school. Also, if I find myself a surprising sum of money, get the stock K04 ported/polished with a new wheel.

Re: Spring time Mods!

First I plan on getting the thing back on the road(vacuum pump bearings disintegrated and are in the oil pan thankfully they didnt get into the oil pan). After I get a better paying job i hope to save up for a manual tranny or a Sportline suspension kit from AMG.

Re: Spring time Mods!

nothing planned for the car, all my money's going into the ninja. new front(-1) and rear sprocket(+2), new chain, new tail light w/integrated blinkers, and a jardine slip on exhaust. should run me about $1000.

Re: Spring time Mods!

<Thinks about it, brain implodes........>

Anyhow, needless to say, a shit load. I have an entire room of parts that need to go on and more will be on the way before the end of modding season. Well, here's a list of crap for both cars.

GTC:
  • Install suspension which includes dampers, bars, bushings, mounts, springs, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, steering pump, and lines.
  • Install brake pads, SS lines, rotors, fluid flush, and paint calipers black.
  • Swap the shit brown interior to gray.
  • Install vacuum block and new vacuum lines.
  • Polish lettering and fins on valve cover and intake manifold.
  • Install 3" swing valve and down pipe.
  • Install ignition.
  • Replace valve cover gasket.
  • Install new gauges.
  • Fix rear window seal.
  • Battery relocation.
  • Stereo install.
  • Change ugly rubber boot for leather.
  • Change all fluids with RP.
  • Paint all black trim.

I'm also debating between doing the transmission work or the body work this summer. I'm sure there's something in that damn room I'm forgetting.

Stealth:
  • Change plugs & wires.
  • Change fuel filter.
  • Polish lettering and fins on my new white powdercoated valve cover and intake manifold and install.
  • Pull the BCS plug.
  • Pull the ESC computer and load it in a skeet shooter. DONE!!!
  • Replace the clock-spring.
  • Battery relocation.
  • Subwoofer install.
  • Change wheels. IN PROGRESS!!!
  • Change all fluids with RP.
  • Gauge install.
  • Change dash vents.
  • Change steering wheel.
  • Change door panels.
  • Change seats.
  • Install pedals.
  • Pull ABS fuse.
  • Fix bolt in rear wing. THIS WEEKEND.
  • Fix leak in AC and recharge.
  • Change reverse switch.
  • Change washer fluid reservoir. THIS WEEKEND.
  • Change fog light bulbs.
  • Change air deflector.
  • New y-pipe.
  • Install pre-cat eliminators.
  • Paint all black trim.

I'm thinking about doing the brakes as well with new rotors and SS flex lines. I also want to powder coat the calipers but I don't know what color. The new wheels will be black with a polished lip so I'm thinking black, white, or red. Not sure....

Re: Spring time Mods!

Fix Bumper and add pipe to make a true CAI
Oil change RP
Catback Exhaust- thinking Magnaflow, possibly others but 89% sure
Tires- 265 back, 245 front, most probably GForce KDW's
Gears if I have enough time and money- 3.73 or 4.10's

Re: Spring time Mods!

Buy a new car. And assuming another rod does not go flying through my motor and breaking out of the bottom on my bike agian, I will not have to do anything mechanical to it. However, I did just buy some new leathers, hand grips, factory effex seat cover and a few other misc. things.

You should consider yourself lucky that the rod didnt continue its path and exit through your leg, taking god knows what with it.

Plans = Buy Mazdaspeed 3 in June. CAI, CDFP, SB-E will follow almost immediately after I get it. Not much after that, atleast until i build up some bank to get the FMIC or boost controller.

Re: Spring time Mods!

currently its:

fix rust on drivers door
fix rust on trunk
fix rust starting in passenger door
install header and midpipe
replace rear o2 sensor
get the front bumper repainted
get the rear bumper repainted
get the right side of the car repainted
mount the cd deck in a different location

after all that, hopefully sell the sentra, as im looking for a 94-95 clean miata clean of rust and paint damage, with the Limited slip.
