bent valve
I just pulled the head on a 2001, 2.5L motor and found a bent exhaust valve. Does anyone know if this is an interference engine cause the pistons have no relief cut outs. Even if it is, how could the valve timing be off because it has a timing chain which has not been tampered with. The truck only has 102K and none of the other valves are bent. The truck was running quiet but on only 3 cyl (obviously). Any help would be great. Thanks

Re: bent valve
The valve may have become stuck open just long enough to cause damage. Worn guides causing the valve stem to become "cocked" and/or a weak or broken spring may be the cause.
