Re: 79 TA Power Steering
my 79 only whines when it is 75-80 mph and up, all the time, those belts are difficult to get tight.

Re: 79 TA Power Steering
Does it sound like a bearing? It could be the pump. Could the pulley have gunky build up in the groove? There are conversion kits to go to serpentine belts for just about any engine now, pricey but a much better belt system.

Re: 79 TA Power Steering
When I had my 79 T/A it never made any noise from the P/S system, even when doing 160 mph. If it is making noise with a new belt and it is tensioned correctly, you probably have a problem with one of the pulleys or the pump itself.
