Scale Production 19" RS4 rims - Glueing help, please

Hi to all.

I recently got this nicely done RS4 wheels from Scale Production. Since I'd like to have the center portion in a different color, I'm just thinking how to glue it on the alu rim without messing up the assembly. Any suggestion?

Furthermore, I have a doubt about the strength of the central portion, it looks so tiny...

Anyone had a recent experience with these wheels?

Thanks and bye: R

Wow, they do look fragile, don't they?

Really the only thing that holds aluminum with any strength at all is epoxy. CA is kind of a time bomb- it could go at any time, as aluminum doesn't have enough 'tooth' for CA to properly bond to. It looks like if the resin centres are properly glued in, the glue bond will give them (and so the whole wheels) some strength. So if you want to prepaint the centres, I would go ahead and do it. After the paint is dry, epoxy them in place by applying a line of epoxy around the back of the resin ring, maybe with a toothpick. (If you use the 5 min variety, you probably won't manage more than one wheel at a time before glue sets.) Be careful not to get the epoxy anywhere else on the aluminum, as you won't really be able to clean it afterwards. That should do it....

Try to use Micro Liquitape. For sure it will solve the problem.

i'd do it like MPWR said apart from putting the glue on the resin rim i would put it on the rim groove and then put the resin wheel bit in place. if you did it the other way round when you put the resin piece in the glue would go on the rim as you was pushing the resin in. or do it like MPWR said but on the alu rim put a piece of tape around the lip first put the resin in then remove the tape.
