Help Again
1) Hi guys, on my 95 LTC, I was wondering if any body has came across this problem before. On my drivers side front window, I have this unique problem.. The window will do normal speed until the glass gets to the upper seal then it slows down to a crawl and takes forever to go up. I sparayed lube in the track, It will work fine for a few days then back to a crawl.. I replace the gears and that didn't help. So I replaced the motor, and that didn't help. Any suggestions? Is it time to replace the Window regulator itself, is the cable wore out and starting to bind up?
2) Is there a way to make the rear windows go down farther than from the factory setting? Bryan

Re: Help Again
I would go with a new window regulator and check your door hinges.
It's nothing unusual for the door hinges to wear out. You don't want tobe slamming the door with new parts! Junk yard dog will be on line,he can fix it! Note: I also like to use white grease on doors, also keep glass clean + rainx. MCGIVER |

Re: Help Again
You don't want tobe slamming the door with new parts!
If you have the window 1/2 down and slam the door, the window regulator will break. * The cable gets bunched-up,than you turn the window switch on! The cable might be blocking the window from going up,or in most cases the window regulator cable will break. I have a late 1995,and my back windows go all the way down! The clean window glass + rainx ,and grease is less resistance on the electric window motor. MCGIVER Last edited by danielsatur; 04-15-2008 at 01:44 PM. |

Hey Byran...
First.. I imagine your signature here is showing you something since it's linked to your C drive however, none of your buddies here get to see it unless you put it up on a hosting site. We don't get to see your C:/ I get more curious every day what this picture looks like ![]() Quote:

So, is there a stop in there for safety, to help keep granny and the pets off the highways, or ?? Q's: for Daniel, Do you have OEM regulators in your 1995 rears? Did you McGiver something to enable full travel?

Re: Help Again
Sorry - All window regulators are OE except for one aftermaket that,I
bought on EBAY. My TC is a late 1995 Executive model if this helps. MCGIVER - Try that little safety switch for child protection locks, maybe there linked to the window for safety. Note: The switch is located on rear doors! MCGIVER |
